Founded in Brussels, Whoman is an indie band built around Mira & Ambroos De Schepper (Bandler Ching, Mos Ensemble) and Lou Wery (Stace, Paradoxant). With a musical background spanning multiple genres, their unique take on indie rock and pop blends dense vocal harmonies and progressive riffs—drawing comparisons to Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, and Cocteau Twins. Since 2022, they have been touring across Belgium and France. Alongside the evolution of their electronic identity, every summer, they embark on a unique tour through mountain refuges, performing reworked versions of their songs arranged for three voices and three guitars. This experience has brought a new dimension to their music, placing greater emphasis on vocal harmonies and the essence of their songwriting.
Their debut album, About Honey (set to release in 2026), reflects this eclectic identity, something between intimacy and audacity. Born from life in Brussels, the album captures the tension between the city's creative energy and a longing for different landscapes — quieter, more desolate, closer to nature. Many of these songs emerged in a small apartment — not from direct experience of nature, but from dreaming about it. Its title symbolizes sweetness, longing, and love — a metaphor for the pull between romantic ideals and reality.
The songs move effortlessly between intricate melodies and bold grooves, balancing fragility and vitality. With About Honey, Whoman invites listeners into a world of contrasts — complex yet inviting — marking a striking debut that feels both intimate and expansive.
